Tracy Banasco

I’m a qualified barber and I’ve been at Anna’s barbershop for 8 years now and we aren’t just colleagues, we have become a family. I’d say I’m definitely the funniest one here and when I grace them with my presence it makes their day. I love my job and every aspect of it, couldn’t imagine doing anything else. When I’m not being a part time barber I’m a busy mum to my two beautiful children. Heres to many more happy years at Anna’s!

Damian

Hello guys, gals and everyone in between!

My name is Damian and I moved here to Brighton from Derry City back in the summer of 2017.

After 20 years of working in hospitality here in England, and back home in the motherland Ireland, the lockdown of 2020 brought about a rethink, some retraining and an opportunity to gain a new set of skills. After qualifying at Brighton MET college and after a long twelve months of searching, I’ve finally found a new home here at Anna’s Barbershop!

So, let me welcome you, like I’ve been welcomed here with open arms by Anna, her team, and all our loyal clients who pop in regularly to have their ears lowered.

Since starting Barbering in April 2022, I’ve gained loads of knowledge, skills and methods which allows me to channel various techniques and abilities into giving the client a great haircut. It’s quite a nice feeling to watch clients leave with a massive smile on their face, knowing that I’ve been responsible for giving them that confidence boost and set them up for their day ahead. I feel my confidence as a barber grow as the weeks fly by, and in the coming years I look forward to being the best version of a barber that I can be!

In my spare time I love to get out and about and go to music gigs, comedy shows, the theatre, catch up with mates, pub quizzes, restaurants, and at the cost of everyone else’s sanity and misery, I love a good bit of karaoke….I’m not very good at it mind you, but I can be quite often found down my local boozer on a Thursday night howling horrendously down the mic, simultaneously murdering a good old 1990’s cheesy pop banger. I mean if anything, it’s one way to clear the bar at chucking out time.

And before I sign off, I wouldn’t be the stereotypical Irish man if I didn’t declare my love of Potatoes, (cliche I know, but I’m owning it). I don’t care what anyone says but Potatoes are an essential food group and definitely count towards your 5 a day! If a restaurant menu hasn’t got AT LEAST 7 different types of spuds on offer then you best believe I’m moving on elsewhere!

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read, and I look forward to seeing you all in the shop very soon! 🙂

Courtney

My name is Courtney and I am a 1st year barber at Ann’s barbershop. I will be going full time soon and it can’t come soon enough!

I previously worked in sales for about 7 years but had a mid life crisis and realised that I did not want to do this for the rest of my life. I have always had an interest in barbering and hair, so I took the leap to switch careers.
